Greater Grays Harbor, Inc. Hosts Legislative District Forums

Join us to hear the candidates’ views on issues important to our region.

September 2016 - Grays Harbor residents will have a chance to meet the candidates running for the 19th and 24th Legislative Districts at one of two legislative forums in September.

The 19th Legislative District Forum is scheduled for Thursday, September 22 at the Aberdeen High School Auditorium. In the 19th Legislative District Senate race, Sue Kuehl Pederson is running against incumbent Senator Dean Takko. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from candidates Teresa Purcell (D) and Jim Walsh (R), running for Representative Position 1, and incumbent Brian Blake (D) and Jimi O’Hagan (R), running for Representative Position 2.

The 24th Legislative District Forum will take place on Tuesday, September 27 in the Little Theater at Hoquiam High School. Candidates in the 24th Legislative District include Kevin Van de Wege and Danille Turissini for State Senate, Michael Chapman and George Vrable for Representative Position 1 and Steve Tharinger and John Alger for Representative Position 2.

Bill Wolfenbarger, owner of Jodesha Broadcasting said, “This event will be a great opportunity to introduce the platforms and policies for each candidate so our residents can make an informed decision.”

The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. The forum will last from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. For those unable to attend, KXRO will be live streaming the event.
