Greater Grays Harbor, Inc. (GGH) is honored to officially announce the recipient of the 2024 Q1 Member of the Quarter recipient: Hoquiam Timberland Library! After careful consideration, the GGHI Ambassador Team selected the library to receive the first award of 2024 for their ongoing dedication to the Hoquiam and Grays Harbor community as well as the extensive services they offer to the public. On Thursday, June 13th, the Ambassadors visited the historic library and presented them with the award.

Since 1909, the Hoquiam Library has provided the City of Hoquiam and its community with opportunities for learning, research, entertainment, and a place to meet. Over time these services have expanded to include technology access, printing, digital databases, programs for all ages, meeting room space and more, which all continue to be at no charge with a library card.

The staff at the library also work hard to offer unique and memorable events for community members including ‘Pizza and Paperbacks for Teens,’ ‘Preschool Storytime,’ ‘STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) Wednesdays,’ and ‘Introduction into Mushroom Hunting in the Northwest.’

In the last year alone, the library has supported local schools, YMCA of Grays Harbor, My Town Coalition, Grays Harbor Early Learning Coalition, Hoquiam Business Association, as well as hosted a BAH. When asked what the staff member’s favorite part of doing business in Grays Harbor is, the unanimous answer was helping to meet the needs of the community and providing a safe space for all ages to visit in their beautiful historic building.

Congratulations to the Hoquiam Timberland Library and their dedicated staff for receiving this award, and thank you for your support of GGHI!
