Greater Grays Harbor, Inc. (GGHI) is proud to announce Quinault Nation Enterprises as the 2025 Q4 Member of the Quarter, recognizing an organization whose influence stretches across industries, communities, and generations.
On February 19th, GGHI staff and Ambassadors traveled to Taholah to present the award at the enterprise headquarters. GGHI CEO Darrin Raines formally honored the team, marking a moment that celebrated not only business success, but a deep and ongoing commitment to community wellbeing throughout Grays Harbor County.
“On behalf of the Quinault Nation Enterprise Board,” shared Board Chair Pierre Augare, “thank you to Greater Grays Harbor, Inc. for this recognition. It truly means a lot to us, because our mission has always been about more than business it’s about serving our community and building long-term sustainability.”
As a wholly owned subsidiary of the Quinault Indian Nation, Quinault Nation Enterprises was established to generate revenue and create employment opportunities for enrolled tribal members. Pierre shared that while each enterprise operates in its own lane, together they represent something much larger: a unified strategy centered on strengthening both the Tribe and Grays Harbor County.
The cornerstone of this growth is Quinault Land & Timber Enterprise (QLTE). In the 1990s, the Nation had regained only about 5% of its original land base. Through disciplined acquisition and careful long-range planning, that number has grown dramatically, restoring more than half of the land base today. Responsible stewardship of these lands laid the groundwork for expansion into additional enterprises and partnerships, including collaboration with Willis Enterprises, further strengthening regional employment and economic activity.

Healthcare and recovery services are another essential pillar of impact. At Quinault Community Health, community members can access primary care, pediatric services, and same-day Quick Care for illnesses and minor injuries. The clinic team also assists patients with enrollment and paperwork, helping remove barriers that often prevent families from receiving care.
The Quinault Wellness Center provides assessment and recovery services for individuals facing addiction, along with group sessions (including evening options) and family support programming. Recent expansion phases have added dental services and will soon introduce additional meeting space to accommodate continued growth once Phase 3 is completed this summer.
The Nation’s presence in seafood spans generations. Quinault Pride Seafood, the oldest enterprise, brings locally sourced seafood to regional, national, and international markets.
“At Jolly Rogers Seafood,” explained Pierre, “we not only service our tribal fleet but also support approximately 50 non-tribal commercial vessels over the course of a year. Over the years, we have become a key stop for unloading tuna, crab, and many other ocean-caught products. Seafood offloaded at our dock supports an expansive global reach, making Grays Harbor part of a much larger supply chain.”
When it comes to tourism, Quinault Beach Resort & Casino plays a vital role, drawing visitors for entertainment, hospitality, dining, and gaming while supporting local vendors and creating employment opportunities. Retail stores and fuel stations further serve residents daily, with rewards programs designed to help offset fuel costs for families.
Collectively, Quinault Nation Enterprises, alongside the Quinault Indian Nation, stands among the largest employers in Grays Harbor County. Hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars reinvested annually through wages, benefits, and partnerships contribute directly to the county’s economic vitality.
Beyond operations, the organization actively supports numerous regional nonprofits and initiatives, including the United Way of Grays Harbor, The Salvation Army, YMCA of Grays Harbor, Grays Harbor Historical Seaport, American Red Cross, Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, Washington Business Week, and many others. Leadership involvement also remains strong, with Tony Enzler serving for years on the GGHI Board of Directors, reinforcing collaboration between the organizations.
“Our goal isn’t just profitability,” expresses Pierre, “It’s sustainability, stability, and service building enterprises that strengthen the Tribe while also strengthening Grays Harbor County.”
As the Q4 award recipient, Quinault Nation Enterprises is now a finalist in the running for GGHI’s Member of the Year award. This honor, along with multiple other Business Recognition Awards, are voted upon by the GGHI Membership via an anonymous survey. The winners will be announced at the GGHI Leader’s Banquet & Business Recognition Awards on May 15th at Quinault Beach Resort & Casino.
GGHI is honored to recognize Quinault Nation Enterprises for building a model of economic strength rooted in stewardship, service, and community reinvestment, demonstrating that sustainable growth and meaningful impact go hand in hand.
