The start of fall marks the beginning of the final few months of the calendar year and signals to all of us it is time to start dialing in our focus and goalsetting for 2021.
Here at Greater Grays Harbor, Inc (GGHI) we are busy supporting our local businesses with grant relief and one on one assistance. From promoting and educating about relief options to aiding and advising on thorough grant application documentation we continue to be inspired by the passion of our small business owners. Like so many of our fellow businesses and organizations we are evaluating what we have learned from the COVID 19 pandemic and related economic shutdown to improve our support in the development of a healthy local economy.
This month’s CEO message is a call to action to help your business, build our regional workforce and to engage with local and state government candidates.
Representing Business Interested with Government
Candidate Forums – Starting in September GGHI has been a promotional partner with KXRO to broadcast candidate forums featuring county and state legislature races. Viewers that tune in during the live events can submit questions to the moderator that may be included in the discussion. These forums will continue through October 15th. Links to past and future forums can be found at this KXRO link as well as both KXRO and GGHI Facebook pages.
Building the Leaders of Tomorrow
Leadership Grays Harbor – Greater Grays Harbor, Inc (GGHI) has partnered with Grays Harbor College to create Leadership Grays Harbor (LGH), a civic and professional development program based on key leadership principles. As we plan and prepare for the 2021 cohort, we seek feedback from employers that would consider using this program as an extension of the professional development resources. Please take a moment to complete this survey and provide your feedback.

Lastly, we want to extend a heartfelt good-bye and express our deepest gratitude to Grant Jones as he departs the organization at the end of the month to focus on his own business, Hungry Hollow Farm. Grant extended his planned time with the organization and stepped up to serve as the Interim CEO of GGHI during a leadership transition that included navigating the economic impacts and resources related to COVID 19 in the business community. Grant’s focus, intellect and experience have benefited GGHI in ways that will be felt for years to come and we are thankful for the time and passion he invested in the organization. Information regarding the fulfillment of this position will be shared when available.
