Hello Members,
Wow, where has the time gone, it’s hard to believe it’s October already and the beginning of the 4th quarter. Our staff was busy this past month hosting another successful Showcase Grays Harbor, our Ambassadors have attended several Ribbon Cuttings for new businesses, and I have had the honor of giving presentation to the Aberdeen and Hoquiam Lions Clubs.
We also had the honor of helping Grays Harbor College, Dr. Carli Schiffner, and staff host Senator Maria Cantwell on September 4th in the new tulalW Center on campus at GHC. We held an economic roundtable for local leaders of Grays Harbor, where we discussed the federal EDA funded Recompete Grant, and how it can help workers in Grays Harbor aged 25-54 get back to work and to reduce the Prime Age Employment Gap. Thank you Dr. Schiffner and staff for setting up a successful event! The tulalW Center is the newest facility just opened on campus and is an incredible facility, well done!
Upcoming Events
We will be hosting a Business Forum Lunch on October 22nd at the Log Pavilion, where we will get to meet Mr. Sam Kim, the first ever County Administrator for Grays Harbor. Kim brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to public service, making him an excellent addition to the county’s leadership team.
In his new role, Kim will be responsible for managing the county’s operations, implementing strategic policies, and working closely with the Board of County Commissioners to achieve the county’s goals and enhance service delivery to the community. He will also oversee the coordination of county departments, ensuring efficient and effective governance.

Additionally, mark your calendars for one of the last Business After Hours of 2024, hosted in November by Chateau Westport. Keep an eye on this official event page for more information as the event approaches.
