Greater Grays Harbor, Inc. Officially Welcomes New Member, Snowbird Farm & Cidery!
Snowbird Farm & Cidery is Grays Harbor’s first cidery, producing quality craft hard cider. They offer onsite pours and flights as well as growlers and crowlers to go. Their tasting room is located on a 100+ year old farmstead located at 484 Old Monte Brady Rd. Montesano, WA.
Snowbird Farm & Cidery owner, Raeann Edwards is originally from Grays Harbor, Montesano and Elma in particular, and co-owner, Duncan Edwards is from Seattle. “We spent over 30 years in Fairbanks, Alaska before deciding that it was time to move back to be closer to family,” said Raeann. “Years of experimenting with cider-making led to the idea of opening our own cidery. This idea became a “retirement” dream with the hope to produce quality modern cider and to create an atmosphere of community and family by providing a nostalgic farm setting where people can gather and enjoy cider, picnics, farm products, and farm activities. Returning to my hometown to provide something like this in the community then became the goal.”
“We are proud to be more than a cidery, but also a place where friends and families can go to hang out and enjoy an afternoon,” explains Raeann. “As a family friendly business, we encourage outside food, so bring the kids and snacks or lunch and make it an afternoon activity. We often have chickens, ducks, and goats wandering around, as well as horses, a mini donkey, and sheep to visit and interact with. We also have outdoor games, a sandbox, and boardgames. Our hope is to provide a community and family feel.”
A portion of the proceeds from Snowbird’s hopped cider, Hoppy Opus, is given to the Twin Harbor Wildlife Center each month. They also give a portion of the proceeds from their infused cider, Crazy Cow Farmer, to a different organization each month.
