Annual State of Grays Harbor Event to Feature Presentation on the Local Economy

This year’s keynote speech to be presented by the Washington Retail Association.

May 2019 – The State of Grays Harbor, presented by Greater Grays Harbor, Inc. (GGHI), will take place on June 7 from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Rotary Log Pavilion in Aberdeen. This annual event is an important opportunity for community members to receive an in-depth view into the economic performance of the county.

The State of Grays Harbor will present the findings from the 2019 Grays Harbor Economic Vitality Index – a report showing trend data and highlights of key economic sectors and activity within Grays Harbor County. In addition, this year’s guest speakers will feature Washington Retail Association President/CEO, Reneé Sunde and Washington Retail Association Sr. VP of Policy and Government Affairs, Mark Johnson.

Ms. Sunde and Mr. Johnson will be presenting on “Retail: The Industry that Impacts Everyone, Everywhere and Everyday.” With the wrap-up of the 2019 Legislative session, Mr. Johnson will discuss recent legislation impacting retailers and small businesses. From taxes, employment regulations, marketplace fairness and data privacy, this year’s session offered a broad range of bills that further require retailers to adapt.

The cost to attend is $25 for GGHI members, $35 for non-members or reservations made after Thursday, May 30. Breakfast will be catered by O’Brien’s. Please call GGHI at (360) 532-7888 or email Candie@graysharbor.org to RSVP.

Greater Grays Harbor, Inc. would like to thank Pacific Mountain Workforce Development Council for sponsoring this year’s State of Grays Harbor. Additionally, GGHI would like to extend our thanks to Quinault Beach Resort and Casino, Impact Washington and TwinStar Credit Union for their gracious sponsorship of the 2019 Economic Vitality Index Report.
