Greater Grays Harbor, Inc. welcomes a very sweet new member, Buddy and Howie’s Candy Store, owned by Jenn and Robert Strobel!
“We purchased the business in May of 2022 and re-opened the beginning of June 2022. We loved Buddy and Howie’s and it was a tradition that every time we 
came to the ocean, we’d stop in.
We were patiently waiting for it to re-open after they shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic. After seeing on the original Facebook page that, with heavy hearts the old owners had decided to sell, I immediately made contact with them. I had never dreamed we would own a candy store, but I knew how important this candy store was to not only my family, but also it’s town the Ocean Shores community.
I couldn’t fathom someone buying it and turning it into something else. So, after many conversations between my husband and I, we decided it had to stay and we would work hard to make that happen. It was almost like fate because if you know anything of the original store, Buddy and Howie are teddy bears, and for almost 30 years I have collected teddy bears, so it was almost as we got a sign that this was our future.Buddy and Howie’s best seller is definitely our taffy! Fudge and Chocolate is not far behind. And of course you can’t go to a candy store at the beach and not expect to find Seafoam. Our most unique item is our recent addition to the business, freeze dried candy. It seems to be very popular, and people are coming in just for that. The most popular is the freeze dried taffy. We also carry freeze dried Milk Duds, Skittles, Big Hunk Bars and Jolly Ranchers and have done Charleston Chews and hope to have them back available very soon.” – Jenn Strobel
