Greater Grays Harbor, Inc. (GGHI) is Excited to Officially Welcome Sound Permitting LLC to our Organization!
Sound Permitting LLC is a family owned small business that assists people in getting permits. The permit process can be a difficult task for those who don’t deal with it on a regular basis, so that’s where they come in. From building a new home to putting up a new fence, Sound Permitting can help with site plans, project management and/or submitting for permits. This small business is owned by Amie and Justin Anderson and is located in Elma where owner Justin grew up. The two are both happy to call Elma and Grays Harbor home for both themselves and their business.
Amie and Justin enjoy being a part of the community and giving back. “We have been volunteering for years with Search & Rescue in Grays Harbor, Mason & Thurston Counties,” said Amie. “Our small business donates on different levels on a regular basis from being a member and going on searches to donations for fundraisers.”
“I spent nearly 20 years in the field as an Operating Engineer, then later in my career moved to the municipal side working for the government assisting in processing permits,” explained Amie. “While learning the permitting process and inspecting construction sites, I continually saw people running into issues dealing with the government to get permits. The small business owners and single family home owners either didn’t want to deal with it or continually had issues with permit submittals. I understood why, because it was hard for me to understand when I first started working on the government side. Not everyone knows how to read City code and understand what the City and/or County is asking for.”
At the beginning of 2024, Sound Permitting began doing research and decided to start an LLC and provide this service at a reasonable cost to those in our local community. Their future goal is to be a bigger part of the community on a long-term basis.
