Greater Grays Harbor, Inc. is Honored to Welcome New Member, MultiCare

MultiCare  is a not-for-profit health care organization with more than 18,000 team members, including employees, providers and volunteers. They’ve been caring for the community for well over a century, since the founding of Tacoma’s first hospital. And today, are the largest community-based, locally governed health system in the state of Washington.

Their comprehensive system of health includes numerous primary care, urgent care and specialty services — including:  Immediate Clinic,  MultiCare Indigo Urgent Care,  Pulse Heart Institute  and  MultiCare Rockwood Clinic, the largest multi-specialty clinic in the Inland Northwest region.

MultiCare’s network of care includes 10 hospitals:

MultiCare Medical Associates, affiliated physicians and a wide range of community outreach programs across the state complete our organization.

Health care has changed a lot since the Fanny C. Paddock Memorial Hospital — now Tacoma General — opened its doors in 1882. Today the pace of change has never been faster, and the changes themselves have never been more fundamental.

But even as MutliCare has grown beyond Tacoma and the Puget Sound region — transforming themselves from a local health care provider to a state-wide health care system — their purpose remains the same: to care for their patients and communities and to partner for healing and a healthy future.

MultiCare takes their role in the community very seriously. As a not-for-profit health care organization, they provide vital health and wellness services to individuals and families from all walks of life. They don’t just provide health care to the communities we serve. They live in these communities. Their families grow up in these communities. This isn’t just where they do their work. It’s where they make their home.

MultiCare offers community partnership grants to organizations serving our communities. They also foster a Nurse Camp program to share knowledge and applicable skills to the upcoming generation of health care professionals.

This health organization also runs the  first school-based health clinic in Tacoma! Created as a partnership between Tacoma Public Schools, MultiCare and Communities in Schools, the MultiCare Health Clinic at Oakland High School provides health care services to students and children who attend the onsite daycare. The clinic is staffed by MultiCare physicians and nurse practitioners.

MultiCare Health System’s roots date to the founding of Tacoma’s first hospital in 1882. While medical techniques have evolved over the years, their staff members continue to serve their founding mission of providing quality health care to members of the community.
