The Local Business was Nominated by the Staff at Greater Grays Harbor, Inc.
The annual Regional Economic Forecast & Innovation Expo offers attendees the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the future of workforce, dynamic changes in technology and the ever-shifting face of commerce. At this year’s event held at the Great Wolf Lodge on December 5, 2019, SERVPRO of Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties was honored with the coveted Nancie Payne Workplace Excellence Award.
The five-county region’s economic development councils, including Greater Grays Harbor, Inc. (GGHI), Lewis County Economic Development Council, Economic Development Council of Mason County, Pacific County Economic Development Council and the Thurston Economic Development Council, convened to showcase the many emerging economic sectors. This included highlighting the growing fields of media, brewing, arts/culture/creativity and sports/outdoor recreation.
Each year at the EXPO, the Nancie Payne Award is presented. Nancie Payne Ph.D., was the President of the Learning Disabilities Association of America whose sole purpose was to improve the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. Pacific Mountain Workforce Development Council has developed the Nancie Payne Award in her memory. The award recognizes workplace excellence and customer service, meaningful employee engagement, a constructive, diverse and progressive workforce culture and organizations that commit themselves to better business management practices to ensure successful mission achievement.
Each EDC within the region received the opportunity to nominate one recipient per county. GGHI’s nomination of SERVPRO was selected as the grand prize winner, receiving $1,000 to be used for employee development, enjoyment and acknowledgement.
SERVPRO provides 24-hour emergency service and is dedicated to providing the community with the highest level of service by responding quickly, listening to needs and taking action to mitigate the damage to homes or commercial properties. “I’d like to thank Dru Garson and GGHI for nominating us for the Nancie Payne Award,” stated Dean Winkle, owner of SERVPRO of Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties. “Business owners and community leaders have the opportunity to set an example, and once you do, it’s amazing to see something like this transpire. This is a huge honor for both myself and my employees.”
