Meet David Faro, MPA, the new Director of Business Development for Greater Grays Harbor, Inc. Mr. Faro brings over two decades project management experience to GGHI and says, “My focus over the last twenty years has been directed at managing large scale global events, creating international tourism and hospitality networks, and building workforce and economic development strategies for Southwest Washington.”
David most recently worked with the Thurston Economic Development Council as a Regional Agriculture Development consultant. He concentrated on rural food systems management, infrastructure, and growth. Before that, David served as the Executive Director of the Washington Hospitality Association Education Foundation. His time was spent building frameworks that advance career and technical education for students, companies, and institutions. Before moving towards community development, David enjoyed being a global expeditions leader, facilitating life changing journeys to far off places like Antarctica and the Himalayas for an international clientele.
David is delighted to be relocating in Grays Harbor County. He will be a strong advocate for the business community while helping to support entrepreneurs, innovators, civic and business leaders in the process. David was born in the Midwest of the United States and raised internationally. “I have been fortunate enough to have seen a whole bunch of places on the globe, and Grays Harbor County is hands down my favorite. I have wanted to be out here for a long time. I was just waiting for the right opportunity to come along so I could be a part of the community that lives here, rather than just visit. Simply enough, my friends all know if they can’t find me, I am most likely in the mountains or in the ocean, meaning – Grays Harbor County. Now it means so much more. I am excited to invest in this area and make it my home permanently.”
David’s work with GGHI will include business retention and expansion, attraction/recruitment as well as small business education and technical assistance.
