Greater Grays Harbor, Inc. is excited to continue collaborating with WorkSource and assisting in communicating their many services that benefit the Grays Harbor community. WorkSource is a statewide partnership of state, local and nonprofit agencies that provides an array of employment and training services to job seekers and employers in Washington.
WorkSource is a free service that helps connect employers to job seekers and helps job seekers prepare for new jobs. WorkSource hosts hiring events, provides work-based training, and helps job seekers with the hiring process by providing resume and cover letter help, along with other services. Additionally, this organization offers employers unlimited job postings, automatic ranking and side-by-side comparisons of applicants from the largest database of Washington job seekers in the state. All these services are free to use, outside of some work-based trainings which can have participation charges.
The Grays Harbor WorkSource is overseen by Pacific Mountain Workforce Development Council (PacMtn). PacMtn is a recognized leader providing workforce solutions in Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific and Thurston Counties. This non-profit organization develops a fully integrated system of services that is efficient at meeting the community and economic needs of the region.
“In 2014, President Barack Obama signed the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) into law. This law creates a more streamlined workforce training and employment delivery system that seeks to increase business prosperity by supplying highly skilled workers. The focus on business, industry, and the health of our local economy will promote economic success for individuals and our communities. At the local level, PacMtn directs program activities driven by WIOA funding.”
