I hope this message finds you getting ready for our Summer Season. As we move forward through the year, I am pleased to share some exciting updates that reflect our community’s economic vitality and progress.

Economic Vitality Index Release

One of the pivotal highlights this year is the upcoming release of the Economic Vitality Index (EVI) for Grays Harbor. This comprehensive report will provide valuable insights into our local economy’s current state and prospects. We have been working diligently on this and believe it will serve as a crucial resource for all our members to help create policy for our future.

We are thrilled to announce that the EVI report will be officially released on June 25th during the State of Grays Harbor. This event will be an excellent opportunity for you to gain in-depth knowledge about the findings and what they mean for our community’s economic landscape. I encourage all of you to attend. Registration closes on June 18th at 5pm.

Recent Achievements

I am also pleased to highlight some recent achievements and challenges within the Harbor that signify positive momentum in some sectors and opportunities in others. Notably, we have observed a slight improvement in various economic indicators, with a significant increase in tonnage at the Port of Grays Harbor and a decrease in spending per visitor in the tourism sector. The Port’s growth is a promising sign of resilience, and while tourism remains strong, there are more opportunities to enhance visitor experiences and spending.

Upcoming Events and Initiatives

Alongside the State of Grays Harbor, we have a series of initiatives and events planned to enhance engagement and collaboration within our community. In July, we will host a Business Forum Lunch with our County Commissioners. In September, we will present Showcase Grays Harbor, focusing on our the county’s Port Cities. Additionally, we will begin developing the GGHI Legislative Agenda and will seek your feedback throughout the process. Stay tuned for more details and be sure to mark your calendars for these important events.

Our progress is a testament to the support of our members. Your commitment to Greater Grays Harbor is invaluable. Together, we will continue to champion economic vitality and be the Voice for our Community.
