Greater Grays Harbor, Inc. (GGHI) is pleased to announce the hiring of the organization’s new CEO, Darrin Raines, who is scheduled to begin in July.
“The GGHI Board is excited to welcome Darrin Raines as our CEO and lean on his expertise as the Grays Harbor business community continues to grow. We know that he brings with him the knowledge needed to facilitate the needs of our area.”
Darrin comes to GGHI after over 30 years working in local municipal government and operations, most recently as the City Administrator for the City of Cosmopolis. With his time working in government, he takes on the role with decades of regional connections and grant writing and implementation experience.
“I’m honored and privileged to accept this exciting opportunity to serve a professional organization like Greater Grays Harbor, Inc.,” said Raines. “I want to thank the Board of Directors for their trust, and look forward to working for them, our staff, and our member organizations.”
Darrin takes over the role from Interim CEO Jon Martin, who stepped up from being a longtime board member and Board Chair during the nationwide search that resulted in finding our CEO locally.
“Jon Martin was key to maintaining ongoing grant funding and operations since the start of the year when former CEO, Lynnette Buffington took a role as Chief of Staff at the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. His business and GGHI experience ensured that local businesses continued to be served through this search.”
Darrin takes on the role as of July 1, 2024.
Darrin can be reached at draines@graysharbor.org or in the office at (360) 532-7888.
