POSITION TITLE:
- Program Manager, Business Development
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
- The Program Manager for Business Development position is responsible for coordinating, developing, implementing, and monitoring strategies which improve the economic health and business climate in all of Grays Harbor County.
- This role includes developing and promoting business development programs and resources across the Grays Harbor region. The Program Manager will engage with businesses of all sizes to support the retention and growth of those enterprises.
- It is the job of the Director of Business Development to assist in the implementation of the vision, values, goals and objectives of Greater Grays Harbor, Inc, in consultation with the Chief Executive Officer.

- $50,000-57,000

- Office is located in Aberdeen, WA. Hybrid (remote/in-office) work opportunities considered.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Business Development
- Respond to business assistance inquiries and provide appropriate follow-up assistance or referral.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all available local, regional, state, and federal incentives that can assist in business retention and expansion and/or relocation efforts.
- Build working relationships with economic development and business development partners and allies including local and state economic development organizations.
B. Marketing and Research Management
- Develop, implement, and monitor marketing plan for countywide business support and economic development.
- Provide active input for marketing collateral materials, website, public relations, and social media.
- Disseminate the economic development/business development work of Greater Grays Harbor, Inc. via the following outlets:
- E-Newsletters
- Brochures
- Magazines
- Newspapers
- Radio
- Social Media
- Provide presentations to local groups and organizations highlighting the business development resources through Greater Grays Harbor.
C. Program and Project Management
- Develop, implement, and monitor programs for business retention and expansion, entrepreneurship, and trade development.
- Assist in fundraising processes and grant writing, including identification of grant programs and opportunities from private and public resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO, including assistance with special projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability and desire to actively market economic and business development programs, activities, and services to attract, retain and grow business.
- Position requires a high degree of collaboration, coordination, and consultation with many individuals and resource entities to successfully complete a project.
- Independent self-starter capable of managing and prioritizing multiple time sensitive projects and priorities.
- Ability to handle high pressure situations and interact with various personalities at all levels diplomatically.
- Ability to make decisions and adapt to changing work situations and ability to grasp and apply new ideas.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to help meet departmental goals.
- Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Google Drive and Slack.
- Familiarity with Customer Resource Management (CRM) tools, Google Drive and other software.
- Proven ability to develop strong sustainable relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain expenditures within approved budgetary program and controls.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must understand and respect the importance of confidentiality and be able to maintain a professional demeanor while representing GGHI.
Required Education and/or Work Experience:
A Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business, public administration, economics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the applicant with the above referenced knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Other Conditions:
- Must provide own transportation.
- Must be willing to work occasional irregular hours and weekends to support GGHI’s and its clients’ programs and initiatives, attend evening meetings, meet deadlines, and achieve objectives.
