Peter and Kathy Fluetsch started Sunset Air in their garage in Tumwater back in 1976. Since those humble beginnings, the business has grown and evolved into an industry leader in Washington State. Sunset Air is proud to have offices in Lacey and South Bend, serving multiple local communities.
Sunset Air's current owner and CEO is Trenton Fluetsch. Trenton is proud to continue with his family legacy as the third-generation owner. Trenton has a master's degree in business administration from Villanova University. He is a longstanding board member for the Thurston County Chamber of Commerce, serving as chairman in 2024 and 2025. Trenton proudly serves on the board for the Hands On Children's Museum in Olympia.
This year, Trenton was named in South Sound Business's 40 under 40 list, which honors outstanding young professionals making a meaningful impact in our local business community. Trenton is a proud father and husband who thrives on staying active. In the past few years, he has completed multiple marathons and summited Mount Rainier.

This year, Sunset Air was recognized by the Thurston County Chamber as the Thurston Green Large Business of the year, for our leadership in building electrification and renewable energy adoption across the community. Additionally, we are proud to be the only HVAC contractor in Thurston County selected to participate in Energize Thurston, Energize Olympia, and Solarize Thurston, demonstrating our commitment to community-based climate solutions. We are the only company in Thurston County with an ESCO (Energy Services Company) designation. We also work closely with local utilities, and even upfront costs, to ensure customers can utilize the benefits of utility rebates to the fullest.
Lastly, the Sunset Air team are proud supporters of numerous organizations, including the Hands On Children's Museum, Habitat for Humanity, Thurston County Boys & Girls Club, the Raymond Pool, etc. Through volunteerism and financial support, we aim to strengthen the communities we serve.
