ABERDEEN, Wash. (September 17, 2026) Greater Grays Harbor, Inc. – Greater Grays Harbor, Inc. (GGHI) has announced the hiring of its new Executive Director, who will lead the organization’s efforts to support business growth, economic development, and community prosperity throughout Grays Harbor County.
GGHI serves as the county-wide chamber of commerce and economic development council, working to build and strengthen business and industry for a prosperous community. In collaboration with local businesses, community organizations, and regional partners, GGHI implements initiatives designed to maintain, expand, and create economic opportunities across Grays Harbor County.
“The Board of Greater Grays Harbor, Inc. is pleased to announce the selection of its Executive Director,” stated the GGHI Executive Board. “After an open recruiting process, multiple interviews, and evaluating several qualified candidates, we are excited to welcome Mr. Richard Foster to Grays Harbor. Richard will be starting on October 1, 2026. We look forward to the community and our stakeholders meeting and getting to know Richard soon.”
Foster brings more than 10 years of experience in economic development, public-sector leadership, business recruitment and retention, infrastructure development, and strategic planning. Throughout his career, he has worked with businesses, local governments, state and federal agencies, and community partners to support investment, job creation, and long-term economic growth.
Foster holds an MBA in Finance from Syracuse University and undergraduate degrees in business administration and economics from Central Washington University. Foster also serves as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. He has 5 children ages 5-14, and his favorite activities include fishing, hiking, and coaching youth sports.
In his new role, Foster looks forward to working closely with businesses, community leaders, local governments, and regional partners to build on GGHI’s momentum and support continued economic growth and opportunity throughout the region.
