Concert goers at Seabrook’s Summer Concert Series

Live music, theater, comedy, and movies, oh my! Grays Harbor’s creative arts community provides some of the best live music, plays, comedy shows, and musical performances throughout the year. Check out all of the fantastic venues, as well as some of the most unique places to watch a classic or new release film, on your next visit to the coast of Washington.

7th Street Theatre

313 7th St, Hoquiam, WA

As one of the most historic working buildings in Grays Harbor, 7th Street Theatre is both a beautiful and practical venue to visit for a memorable show. As the Theatre approaches the its’ 100 year anniversary (it was built in 1928!) this Hoquiam gem is proud to hold the title of one of few remaining atmospheric-style theaters on the West Coast. Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987, visitors will be amazed with the unique interior simulating an open-air playhouse with a painted sky ceiling and twinkling stars.

One of the most popular performances at 7th Street is the annual Miss Grays Harbor Pageant held each February featuring some of the most talented performers in the County vying for the year’s crown. 7th Street also plays host to numerous other productions including the summer’s 7th Street Kids musical, dance recitals, and much more. If you’re looking to kick back and relax with a bag of freshly popped popcorn (the old fashioned way!), then 7th Street is the perfect choice. Many weekends throughout the year feature movies of all genres, such as 2024’s line up including ‘Young Frankenstein,’ ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory’ and ‘It’s a Wonderful Life.’ Visit their website for the most current show times and dates.

Bishop Center for the Performing Arts

The Bishop Center for the Performing Arts, located on the campus of Grays Harbor College (GHC), is your go-to venue for an evening of excellence. With shows on the calendar many weekends of the year, the Bishop Center is always alive with laughter, music, and appreciative cheers from the crowd. Each year the Bishop Center itself holds auditions for plays and musicals that have included classics such as ‘Rent’, ‘A Year with Frog and Toad’, ‘Legally Blonde: The Musical’, ‘Annie’, and many others.

The Bishop Center also hosts a wide array of other shows, including GHC’s Jazz Band and Choir, staged theater readings performed by GHC’s drama students, live flugelhornists, productions put on by the Grays Harbor Symphony, Grays Harbor opera workshops, and even classic films shown alongside a shadow cast. Tickets often sell out to these uniquely wonderful shows, so be sure to purchase tickets in advance and stay up to date on their busy schedule of events shared on their Facebook and website.

The Music Project

Celebrate the legacy of Pacific Northwest Rock + Grunge Music History with The Music Project in Aberdeen! Located in the heart of Grays Harbor, the local group of music enthusiasts and advocates behind The Music Project are on a mission to harness the powerful impact of music. Their journey began with a simple belief; that music has the extraordinary ability to changes lives and unite communities. Soon, visitors will be able to visit their Kurt Cobain Tribute Gallery, Unplugged Lounge, The Green Room and The Kurt Cobain Childhood Home Museum. Ocean Shores Cinemas

The Ocean Shores Cinema combines cozy, comfortable seating with the excitement of the latest releases on the big screen. With three screens, the best of the today’s action, adventure, drama, and comedy flicks are shown in this small town theater, void of the crowds in bigger cities. The Cinemas’ newly replaced seats are the perfect place to sit back and enjoy a much anticipated movie with a bowl of freshly popped popcorn and nachos in your lap.

Driftwood Theatre

Driftwood Playhouse in Aberdeen

Driftwood Theatre in Aberdeen is home to the talented Driftwood Players and produces multiple shows a year.

The history of the Driftwood Players spans the decades and has been providing community theater opportunities for over 60 years. Today, plays are performed on the stages of the former Christian Science Society building in Aberdeen. The Driftwood Players are honored to have built a local reputation and performed over 300 plays over the years. Driftwood puts together an average of four shows per year, each directed, orchestrated, and cast by Grays Harbor’s own talented community. Take a look at their many past productions and be sure to grab tickets to an upcoming show to witness the skillful cast at work.

Outdoor Music Venues

What’s better than enjoying a picnic under the summer’s sun? Enjoying a picnic with live music filling the air! Locations throughout Grays Harbor host live musicians throughout the year welcoming crowds to soak up the sweet vibes of summer. A few of those include Seabrook’s Summer Concert Series held in their outdoor amphitheater with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, events at Ocean Shores’ Oyhut Bay Seaside Village, and many other locations.

Restaurants/Bars for Live Music

While many of the restaurants and bars in Grays Harbor feature live musicians, it can be difficult to pinpoint where they’ll perform on any given night.
